Although this photograph is luscious you need to see this piece to experience its texture. Carol uses sandpaper and abrasives and creates incredibly tense coils that are transformed into gears in the larger view.
The pieces are incredibly crafted and are much more complex than they appear a first glance. Their orderliness is unsettling.
